Ogham

THIS CD-ROM IS ON SPECIAL OFFER FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE AT HALF-PRICE, ONLY €15 + pps.
Ogham is a bilingual interactive multimedia CD-ROM on ogham writing with a corpus of over 350 ogham stones from Ireland and Britain.
The CD-ROM includes a comprehensive section on ogham in general, explaining its structure, its origins, its dissemination, its linguistic importance and what it can tell us about the people who used it. Each stone is given individual attention: the inscription is analysed and explained according to the most commonly accepted theories today. There are over 1,000 photos and sketches of the stones and often additional photos of the site. The inscription in the main photo can be highlighted at the touch of a button, assisting users in making their own readings. The articles on the individual stones can be accessed in a variety of ways: through maps, site lists, catalog numbers and lists of the words in the inscriptions. All of the text is provided in both Irish and English, with a handy facility for switching languages on every page.
"Ogham is a very well researched and comprehensive account of the 400 (approx) existing Ogham stones. It is suitable both for those wishing to find out about Ogham stones in their locality as well as those wishing to make a fuller study of the topic. I would highly recommend it"
